Kelli Connell, any one?

I wanted to share one of my inspirations with you.  I'm sure some of you are already familiar with her work, but I'm sure she is new to some.  Her interpretation of relationships and memory is really beautiful.  In case you didn't know, she recreates a scene between two people from her memory or from the memory of another and plays both parts.  She is very transformative and her sense of gesture is very powerful.

Yes, I remember seeing her show at SF Camerawork in 2007. The topic of memory and identity is something I really explored when I was making my own films and that's why I too was drawn to her work.

I found it interesting that we're seeing how she remembers the moment and how she thinks someone felt at that moment. Playing both roles in the image keeps it closer to her account. I'm curious to explore all the possible factors that could have altered her memory to lead her to interpret it the way she did.

I don't know if you saw that show but there were other artists like Morgan Konn, Tarrah Krajnak and Wilka Roig. I'll post some of their work. Hope it inspires you as well.
