so today is the Palin/Biden debate so I figured I would post something more political... I love Terry Richardson's work and his capacity to do such raw portraits, to manipulate absurdity and provocation, to see himself not too seriously also, I guess. These were shot in 2007 before Obama became a presidential nominee. The handshake is on the homepage of T. Richardson's website so he is obviously supporting the guy, but at the same time there is something like "yeah I am also a clown" in the close-up that says a lot about how the photographer feels about politics. I like the double message.
