PARIS JE T'AIME

This is a 2006 film that consists in 18 short movies set in different arrondissements of the city. "Love" ( -not only romantic love) was the theme of the project. Directors and actors from all around the world were part of it, including people like Wes Craven, Gus Van Sant, Joel and Ethan Cohen, or actors Natalie Portman, Elijah Wood, Gena Rowlands, etc.

To me the best short is the last of the serie, about the 14eme arrondissement... an american tourist in Paris :-) Very poetic, amazing writing - crazy how the simplicity of her words can transmit the complexity of her emotions. Also hilarious -and charming- american accent and rough french... watch it (subtitled) !

Also loved Natalie Portman in that one. Enjoy !

I saw this movie when it came out. Very enjoyable.

Many of these segments have great stills and make me want to learn to shoot more cinematic style.

Has anyone taken the lighting for cinematography class? Would it help, or is it basic?

yes, a great movie... I do love the natalie portman scene. And that it's all about love, but not "loooove". It's real, not perfect. Agathe, I finally watched persepolis...! It's on my blog...

I saw this movie in a hostel in Managua in the beginning of September. Wonderful vignettes. Made me want to move to Paris. Interesting interpretations and visions of love.
